Embu residents got a special Christmas treat courtesy of businessman Ken Java who had organized a Christmas for the less privileged.
Those who arrived at around 1pm started calling their relatives who were still at home without a plan for the international holiday. That is how the stadium got full by 3pm. Over 5000 people enjoyed the free Christmas delicacy.
"I had no hope of celebrating this Christmas due to the hard economic times and that's why I did not go to home in Machakos County. I was just walking in town when I got information that there was free food at the Moi Stadium and that's how my Christmas matrix matched", said Mr Musau Muema.
Muema's story was similar to that of Brian Mugambi and many others.
While addressing the locals who attended the Christmas celebrations, Java said that it was an act of giving back to the community.
"I decided to bring this celebrations here to celebrate with those who have no Christmas", he said.
The event will be taking part every year.
