St Matthias Mulumbi Matinyani Boys' Secondary School received its results having been cleared of suspected irregularities.
St Matthias Mulumbi Matinyani Boys' Secondary School attained a mean score of 8.2. Earlier after results were withheld, area MP Ms Edith Vethi Nyenze and Kitui MP Dr Irene Kasalu had given KNEC an ultimatum of up to January 20 to release the results.|MWINGI TIMES
Confirming the release of the results, Kitui County Director of Education Khalif Issaack said that they were held due to investigations into the examination malpractice.
The school got a mean score of 8.2. It was the best performing secondary school across the Eastern region in 2022. But the 2023 results is a drop compared to the previous year's position. Other secondary schools in Kitui County which were ahead of Matinyani are: Kisasi Boys', Muthale Girls, Kitui School, St Charles Lwanga and Zombe Girls'.
St Matthias Mulumbi Matinyani Boys' Secondary School was among 4,113 schools in Kenya whose results were withheld when Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu announced last year's exam results.
