Our Chief Guest, His Eminence Dr. Kennedy Waningu, the Provost of International College of Peace Studies, Bishop Dr John Mwaniki, representing our Archbishop, highly esteemed Bishops, members of the clergy, office of the president, County Government, Legal team, Legislature, Security team, our directors, teachers leadership and unions, my colleagues, all leaders, all protocols observed, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon.
I give all the Glory to God who made this to happen. Honour and Glory belongs to Him. Special appreciation to the international college of Peace Studies for your fair and objective assessment that has seen me come this far. Thanks again for having faith in me. I am forever grateful.
The church in general, GOC family, your support is beyond words, my dearest wife Tabitha, you are a story with an opening formula but without a closing formula, the best gift God has ever given me. The bigger Kithome and Mutia family, My friends and partners, colleagues at different levels, ladies and gentlemen.
It’s with profound joy that l take this opportunity to address this highly esteemed congregation. In the interest of time I will share with you only three important nuggets of success at least in my opinion:
1. Service to God. It’s not in vain, it will surely be rewarded. Hebrews 6:10, 1 Corinthians 15:58. This includes service to humanity from a pure heart. Remember the Kiswahili saying: “Tenda wema nenda zako”. This should however be done in the fear of God. This is how favor begins to follow you.
When you serve God’s purpose, He serves your purpose. After David had served God’s purpose in his generation, he respected… Acts 13:36.
2. Working hard and within the given time lines.
Do what you can now. Time waits for no one. Shine now, you can’t be a star in another generation. Avoid procrastination. This is a cancer that can completely shutter your dreams and turn you to an empty dreamer without a tangible substance or results.
This calls for discipline, proper time management, sacrifice and running your race. Hebrews 12:1
3. Maintain proper human support system.
God uses men to serve Men, He uses men to build men, God uses men to build the destinies of Men. Don’t be quick to let go. Allow no one to leave before they have served their purpose in your life. Maintain the right connections and relationships. There are certain doors that can only open by a particular person and it’s not until you meet and maintain such a person for the appropriate and appointed time that this can happen. This is how God has framed life in this world. Relationships don’t leave you the same; if they do not make you, they break you. Maintain your relationship with God and Men because you are in this world. You need favour with God and men Luke 2:52, 1 Samuel 2:26. This is what has brought me this far.
Ladies and gentlemen allow me to pause at this point and once again say a big thank you for deliberately choosing to crown my ‘crown’. Shalom and God bless you all.
