Farmers' hopes in Kitui County are likely to be diminished by the latest weather report from Kenya Meteorological Department.
The Kitui County Director of Meteorological Services Mr Daniel Mbithi said that there is forecast "no significant rain this week and the short-rains seem to have stopped".
However, the Weatherman has reiterated that farmers should take advantage of the high temperature levels to dry their crops to acceptable moisture levels in order to minimize post-harvest losses.
The Kenya Met Department says this week will be marked by high temperatures ranging from a maximum of 27°C to 37°C. The minimum temperature during the forecast period is forecast to be between 17°C and 25°C.
