Tseikuru sub-county police commander in  Kitui County, Ezekiel Kiche, said on Sunday that a policewoman who lost her life while visiting her fiancee died of a natural cause.

Kiche said that although it was not clear what  the deceased who was an instructor at Kiganjo Police Training College was suffering from, she had variously fallen sick and was undergoing treatment.
“We will be able to know exactly what the policewoman was suffering from once the postmortem is conducted. I cannot disclose more details at the moments,” Kiche told MWINGI TIMES on phone on Sunday morning.

A  police incident report filed from Tseikuru indicates that the fallen police constable who was attached to the drill faculty of Kiganjo Police College had visited her fiancee at Kaningo village in Tseikuru Ward at the time tragedy struck.

The deceased police constable arrived at the Kaningo home of his fiancee, Stephen Kyalo Musungu, a fellow police constable attached to Mumias Police station, on January 27.

The report further said Muzungu reported that on arrival the female police constable started complaining of  severe head ache and began to vomit.
The following day, the report added, she wast taken to a Mumoni Nursing Home at Tseikuru township where she was treated and discharged in fair condition.
The report further  added that on February 1, the illness recurred and she was  again taken back to the health facility where she was treated and allowed to go back home.

However, the following day her situation worsened and she was taken back to the nursing home where she passed away when undergoing treatment, according to the police report.

When the death was reported, the police visited the scene and collected the body for preservation at Kyuso Level IV Hospital as the area Directorate of Criminal Investigations took up the matter.
