Daniel Mutemi, a departed foremost educationist from Kamuwongo area of Mwingi North Sub-County in Kitui, was buried during an emotional and tearful ceremony at his home on Saturday.
Mutemi, who taught for 40 good years was eulogized as a visionary man, mentor and no-nonsense educationist who was instrumental to seeing many professionals excel in different fields through his devotion to teaching. His send off ceremony at Ngaani village in the outskirts of Kamuwongo market was attended by a huge multitude of people whom he had undoubtedly positively touched in different ways in life led by area MP Paul Nzengu.
A part of a printed eulogy on the late Mutemi said he had a teaching career spanning 40 years before he retired in June 2022 and that he had a great passion for education. The departed former teacher was also recognized as a counselor who wished all people success in life. "He had a passion for education, a unifier of the populace, generous to all, keen on general well-being of self and others. He was a perfectionist; no time wasting," his eulogy read in part.
MP Nzengu said the huge crowd of mourners that attended the late teacher's funeral and burial was a clear testimony that he was a man of the people who in life interacted with all amicably. He called on every member of the community to strive to make a positive mark while alive and make impactful contribution to the lives of other people. "All and sundry should follow the example of the late Mutemi; strive to endear themselves to community through impactful contribution," said the legislator.
Kamuwongo chief, Mary Muema, described Mutemi as a man who loved development and actively participated in the affairs of community development with selfless devotion.
