The police are investigating a man suspected to have killed his wife in Ikutha sub county, Kitui South. Mutunga Kituku separated with his wife Esther Mwalimu in 2022. He is suspected to have killed his estranged wife and dumped her body in Kalivu forest in the same sub county.
John Mwalimu, who is a brother to the deceased said that the suspect tried reconciling with his estranged wife. He then lured her where she escaped to the forest and was killed.
Police retrieved the body of Mama Esther Mwalimu and took it to a mortuary in Mutomo town as investigations continue.
