WANJALA: Stop violence against women

One of the challenges that women go through is lack of respect and caregiving .This is where women are caregivers for children, parents, spouses, siblings or extended family members which makes them have two full-time jobs, while trying to complete with men who have one. And over half of women are primary breadwinners in their households. These women also face the far more element problem of being considered properly. 

Some of the women are forced to take permission of their male guardian to enroll in school, travel and take job. There are places where women are still forced to be legally and socially subservient to men with no means of gaining financial or social independence.

Women are contending with practices such as honor killing genital mutilation, acid burning, children marriage and gender apartheid .There has been a lot of killings where women are killed and their bodies cut into pieces for example the recent case of Air BnB and also reported cases of women being killed by their husbands. 

There are also cultures which practice genital mutilation and child marriages which has stopped many women from achieving their dreams. We have also heard of women being poured acid which has made their faces scattered and lost beauty thus undergoing trauma .Some of them end up dying.

I believe that the big challenge facing working women is navigating career opportunities while maximizing motherhood.

Working men do have luxury of leaning in to their careers or motherhood but rarely both at once.Enabling a mother to re-enter the workforce where she left off should be common place but solving on ramp problems for talented women who choose to pause their careers to prioritize family life still eludes.

A lot of women in this current society are still going through sexual abuse .This is a very big problem because even the small children are also going through this. We have heard several times about how women are being harassed and abused sexually. Some are raped. Even small children below 5 years. These cases have been reported but no justice has been done.
