Being the peak month of the March-April-May MAM rains, the first week of April is forecast to have moderate to heavy rains over several places in Kitui County.Few areas will receive very heavy rainfall during the forecast period, county director of meteorological services Mr Daniel Mbithi says.
Generally, this will be a wet week with highland areas of Kitui Central, Kitui West and Mwingi expected to receive heavy rainfall.
The maximum temperature this week will oscillate between 24°C and 33°C while the minimum temperature set to be experienced during the forecast period will be between 17°C and 22°C.
The cessation period for this long rain season is forecast to be between the first week of May to the third week.
