A Thursday night robbery with violence incident in Kitui town led to the death of a security guard and shooting of a middle-aged man. Kitui Central sub county Head of DCI John Gacheru confirmed the incident adding that the injured man is son to the owner of hardware where the incident happened.
The body of the security guard was taken to Kitui County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation as investigations into the daring incident commenced.
"We got a report that it (the hardware) had been attacked. When we arrived,we found that the security guard was injured and a young man to the mzee was injured. The son sustained gun injury to his chest. Guns were fired. At last, the security guard died", said the Kitui Central Head of DCI.
Mr Gacheru added that the young man was admitted in hospital and in stable condition.
