"It is time the government acted decisively and sufficiently protected my people from the blood-thirsty camel herders who attack and kill them from the comfort of their home and farms", said the legislator.

MP Nyamai was addressing the press at Kitui County Referral Hospital on Wednesday when she visited Mr Mulyungi Nzumbi, a resident of Mutha Ward. He was stabbed on Monday evening by a camel herder and left for the dead. The knife was left lodged on his body. He was rescued by neighbors.

The camels devoured his crops. The MP said this was uncalled for and the government should move fast to deliver justice to her suffering community members.
"Before the end of the day, we want to be given information that the assailant has been arrested for the law to take its course", said the only Jubilee legislator in Kitui County.

MP Nyamai alleged that the camel herders were on an expansionist drive to occupy parts of her constituency, Kitui South. The camel herders come from the North Eastern region as well as Tana River County, she added.
