The second last week of January 2025 will be marked by sunny and dry weather conditions, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department, KMD.
This comes after the cessation of October-November-December rains which had hence likely to cause major food insecurity in Ukambani.
The maximum temperature range for this week will oscillate between 27°C and 35°C while the minimum temperature range will be between 16°C and 23°C.
Daniel Mbithi, the county director of Meteorological Services in Kitui county, has stressed the threat of climate change in agriculture by advising farmers to be 'climate smart' and 'weather wise'. This will help them adapt to the chaotic and unfamiliar environment of climate change.
Climate change is the long-term shift in temperature and weather patterns. This can be caused by natural factors or changes in sun's activity or large volcanic eruptions.
