Residents of Kimela location in Ngomeni Ward, Mwingi North used to trek for 25km in search of treatment when they got sick.The nearest hospital was in Kyuso town.
On Friday, Kitui county governor Julius Malombe commissioned a newly built health facility in Kimela. The Kitui county boss said his administration was keen in enhancing service delivery by promoting wellbeing of locals and the new health facility was part of fulfilling that goal.
Ngomeni Ward MCA Nzungi Ngwele and other community leaders lauded Dr Malombe for prioritizing healthcare in remote areas.
