Nacada officials collaborated with a multi-agency team comprising of regular police, administrative police, anticounterfeit staff as well as those drawn from the Kenya Bureau Bureau of Standards, KEBS.

On Thursday, they recovered 670 cartons of illicit brew at beer deport in Kalundu area. Nacada said that the successful operation was due to acting on credible intelligence that uncovered the hidden illicit trade. "Authorities indicate that this latest seizure is linked to the same sophisticated network,  revealing the staggering scale and profitability of the illicit trade in the county," said Nacada CEO Antony Omerikwa

The Sh14 million seizure was a measure that saved many young people from engaging in drug abuse at a tender age. "The audacity of these merchants of death,  peddling poison to our children,  our brothers and our and our sisters,  ends," declared the NACADA boss.

The government has put in place measures to dismantle drug cartles by ensuring the culprits face full force of the law. "Let there be no ambiguity.  Our commitment to weeding out this filth from the community is total and non-negotiable. We will use every tool, every law, and every resource at our disposal to hunt down these criminals, " added Mr Omerikwa.
