The accident took place at around 5.30am today. It took place at Thika town when a matatu PSV was joining the Super Highway.
An eyewitness told MWINGI TIMES that it appeared that the driver was fatigued. "Me thinks these drivers need a rest because the driver is likely to have dozed while on the steering wheel. That is why the accident happened", said Onesmus Mwendwa who arrived at the scene to rescue a family member who was in the vehicle. He arrived about 15 minutes after the accident. At the time, police had not arrived.
