THE Kitui County Director of Meteorological Services Daniel Mbithi doesn't have good news for farmers according to his latest weather forecast. Vast swathes which form the majority of Kitui County landmass will receive "light to moderate rainfall".
The Weatherman only notes that "there is a small chance that a few places may receive moderate to heavy rainfall between Thursday and Friday".
This shows that for the most days of the week, there will be limited amounts of moderate to heavy rains. MWINGI TIMES visited a number of farms across the county. Adequate rains are still needed for the crops to mature and give yield.
There has been a countywide dry spell of over a week too.
The Weatherman predicts maximum temperature for this week to oscillate between 23°C to 32°C while the minimum temperature will range from 16°C to 22°C.
