Kitui leaders in bonding to serve the county better

Leaders from the Executive and Legislative branches of Kitui County government have started a weeklong bonding and consultative session in Mombasa.

Governor Dr Julius Malombe and Kitui County Assembly Speaker Kevin Katisya made their opening remarks  on the first day of the caucus on Monday.

The Kitui county boss said the gathering will provide an opportunity for reflection and take stock of the successes achieved in the devolved unit since he was reelected as governor. Dr Malombe hinted that his administration will explore areas of improvement as it works with the County Assembly of Kitui to enhance service delivery to the people.

"We are here to deliberate upon and seek solutions to the problems that affect our people. That is our top priority, said Malombe.

The Kitui county chief said that they should not forget that Kitui electorate entrusted them (leaders) with a noble role of leading the electorate to socioeconomic prosperity.

The youthful Speaker Kevin Katisya said that the the forum was key in building collaboration, coordination and fostering a robust working relationship between the two arms of government in Kitui County.
"This will ultimately enhance service delivery to the esteemed people of Kitui. I firmly believe that at the conclusion of this meeting, we will have laid a strong foundation for mutual understanding," said Speaker Katisya.
