The girl's father Mr John Gatura told MWINGI TIMES that he was disappointed since the government lacked concern about the girl's fate.  Reports indicate that the young woman was grabbed by a crocodile at Kamatirya area in Kamaindi location.

The 36-year-old father said his daughter was attacked by the reptile at around 3pm on Saturday.   The search for the missing girl yield nothing after two days.

She was to report to form one at Gankanga secondary school having scored 209 marks in KCPE.

"As a family, we are surprised that despite the attack on my daughter being reported to the police and KWS, they have not showed up to help us in the search", said the grieving  dad.

Tharaka MCA Muthengi Ndagara has condemned government's failure to respond swiftly to save the student's life. But Thagicu Deputy County Commissioner Ms Joyce Njagi said it was not clear if the girl drowned or was attacked by a crocodile.

  1. Very sad. This is the second life we have lost to reptiles. Few month ago it was the black Mamba killing a grade 4 young lady. As if that is not enough, hippopotamuses are damaging our crops and the government is doing nothing about it. Wildlife enjoys more life in Kenya than ordinary Thagicu citizen
