Nine passengers died on the spot when a 46 seater matatu lost control at Katangi market along Kitui -Machakos highway.
The gory incident happened on Monday afternoon. The deceased included a child of nine years.
An additional 30 passengers survived the accident with injuries of various degrees. They were rushed to Machakos Level Five hospital for specialized treatment, police said.
