Light to moderate rainfall is expected over several places in Kitui County in the next one week. This will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and during the weekend, the weatherman has said.
Farmers have been reminded to take advantage of the high temperatures to dry their harvested crops to acceptable moisture levels in order to minimize post-harvest losses.
Kitui County is popular for drought tolerant crops such as mung beans, sorghum, millet and cowpeas. It is these crops that Kenya Meteorological Department is making reference to in order to be dried well before storage and sale.
