Remembering the boy child

For some Kenyan households, a common visit to see parents is branded as a visit to the mother and not the father. A lot of toil by men in the families go unnoticed and unrecognized. However, a new song by Zipporah Eric seeks to honour fathers as it is written in the Bible, Ephesians 6:1-3.

While this is not a competition against the female gender, it is an ode to the big day fathers deserve for their efforts in raising their families. The crown being bestowed is for their sacrifices in providing for their children, wives and other family members."Let me crown you since you got tired because of us. You are our hero", said Ms Eric, a celebrated Gospel artist, songwriter and performer.

The gifts that come after cakes and pictures need to be diversified not just the traditional suits, shoes and godfather hats.

All this is possible if father's invest in educating their children and helping them in networking for jobs and other deals. Because you cannot pour from an empty cup.

Honor and praise to our fathers.

Ephesians 6:1
[1]Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Ephesians 6:2
[2]“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—
Ephesians 6:3
[3]“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
-[NIV]
