The two spoke on Monday in Mutha trading centre which is situated near Kitui South National Game Reserve. They addressed hundreds of residents who are displaced by the bandits.

MP Nyamai told President Ruto  to ensure banditry is stopped and peace returns in her constituency. "Mr President, I want to tell you that the country is greater than four legislators who have bussed thousands of people from Tana River into the South Kitui National Game Reserve in order to show political supremacy", she said.

She added, "Our people do not own guns. They bank on the government to restore peace and tranquility so that they can return to their normal lives."

MP Nyamai said the butchers hide at Kona Kaliti and Inyali areas strategizing on attacks in the region.

As for Women Representative Ms Kasalu, she expressed regret that locals have no confidence in police officers and are calling upon the government to transfer them "for sleeping on the job".

"They have been compromised. They are the ones supplying the criminals with foodstuffs. They should therefore be replaced immediately".
