Speaking at Kamuwongo River where he saved illegal sand harvesters from being lynched by an angry mob on Sunday, the MP said he fully backed the residents' move to demonstrate against illegal sand harvesting in the area.
The illegal sand harvesters were forced to offload the collected sand that filled two trucks.

Nzengu warned the illegal sand harvesters that they will have themselves to blame if they return at Kamuwongo river for similar activity.
"I fully support my people because illegal sand harvesting has not only caused water sources to dry up but also affected the area's water table. People have been forced to dig deeper wells to fetch water which was not the case before", said the MP.
Mr Muthui Mwanza, a former councillor in Kyuso, said that locals were fully against the illegal undertaking and will monitor illegal sand harvesters who attempt to return to their vicinity.
Due to illegal sand harvesting in Kamuwongo seasonal river, water ceased flowing ever since the activity commenced.
