KCSE candidate wounded in pool table fight

A KCSE candidate in Mwingi was attacked  with a kitchen knife following a Sh30 dispute with a pool table loser.
A KCSE student from Gai Secondary School in Mwingi North was injured in a pool table fight over a dispute over his Sh30 pay. He was taken to Tei Wa Yesu family care health centre for emergency treatment.|FILE

The student is a candidate in Gai Secondary School in Kyuso district, Kitui county. The attack happened on Friday evening shortly after sitting for his Chemistry practical examination.

His losing attacker injured him on his hand and at the back. This was after an altercation in a pool table game where he had won.

Confirming the incident, Kyuso location chief Mr John Kimotho said, "The attacked KCSE candidate was taken to the nearby Tei Wa Yesu family care health centre where his wounds were sutured. Currently, the boy's family is looking for money to take him for specialized attention elsewhere".

Gai Secondary School Principal Mr Peter Mwandikwa revealed that the injured student was sitting for his KCSE exams as a day scholar as he has been out of school for some time. He only showed up to sit for examinations.
