Kitui county Director of Meteorological Services Daniel Mbithi said that the onset of March-April-May rains was likely to be during the forth week of March to the first week of April.
"April will be the peak month. The distribution of rains will be poor to fair", said the met boss.

The Met Department expects rains to cease between the third and forth week of May.

Due to poor distribution of rains in both space and time, farmers have witnessed heavy losses in the past. This has prompted the weatherman to advise farmers to address the adverse effects of climate change.
