In his latest weather outlook, Kitui county Director of Meteorological Services Daniel Mbithi said that the next three months will be sunny and dry.
"However, some areas in the county may experience a few rainy days in January and February", he said.
Due to depressed rainfall, the weatherman has been advising farmers to be climate smart warning that the threat of climate change is real and cannot be ignored while planning for smart agriculture.

Climate change significantly affects agriculture by causing changes in temperature, precipitation patterns, extreme weather events and water availability. These lead to reduced crop yields, soil degradation and potential food insecurity  in vulnerable regions, avers the UN and other development partners.
