The multi-million shillings Kangu Kangu Water Project in Kitui South is set to be commissioned by the end of June this year.

A meeting between Kitui Governor Julius Malombe and World Vision National Director Gilbert Kamanga has arrived at the concurrence that 1.4 million litres of water daily capacity project will be complete mid this calendar year.
The project is as a result of partnership between the County Government of Kitui and World Vision that is aimed to improve water, sanitation, hygiene, and nutrition to enhance livelihoods. Governor Malombe has lauded World Vision for their efforts towards improving the lives of Kitui people through numerous projects.
Following the meeting, a six-member committee has been appointed to oversee the finalisation of project. Dr Malombe and the World Vision leaders agreed to explore additional partnership opportunities, including the Ngomano Water Project in Kitui East.
Present at the meeting included Ag. CS Agnes Mulewa, County CECMs Peter Nkunda (Water), Eng. Reuben Itiko (Roads ) Ruth Koki (Health ) and Mbaya Kimwele of Agriculture on the side of the county government of Kitui.
The delegation from World Vision included Programmes Effectiveness and Implementation Director, Frederick Kasiku, Operations Director Miriam Mbembe, and Kitui Cluster Manager Gibson Kimani.
