The 7 day consultative meeting was geared towards assessing the progress and milestones achieved by the county government of Kitui under governor Julius Malombe in the last two years, as well as pit proper measures for future development.

Speaking at a press conference after the conclusion of the meeting, Kitui governor Dr. Julius Malombe decried the introduction of the E-procurement system by the national government, claiming that too few departments had been onboarded, hence the system may slow development across many counties.

He also took the opportunity to demystify the myth that there is a poor relationship between his county executive and the county assembly, saying that the huge turn up of MCAs was a testimony to the good working relationship they enjoy.
