Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua told former Kitui County Governor Charity Ngilu that she contributed to the loss of Azimio-OKA coalition in the 2022 Presidential elections. He was speaking at Isaangwa AIC church, Kitui Central sub county when the duo faced off during a fundraiser after a Sunday service today.
The Wiper Patriotic Front senator alluded to the fact that Ms Ngilu and another unnamed person from Ukambani "forced Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to endure humiliation in Azimio-OKA coalition" when he was subjected to an interview on whether he was fit to become Raila's running mate.
President Dr William Ruto defeated Raila Odinga in the 2022 general elections. His then running mate was Rigathi Gachagua who is now his fierce critic after an acrimonious fallout.
Ms Ngilu is keen to recapture the governor seat she lost in 2022 and Senator Wambua has expressed interest in vying for the seat hence the rivalry.
