Three people have died and five others left with severe injuries following a road accident involving a Probox and a Toyota Prado V8 at Sekea, Ngangani road in Kitui Rural constituency.
The Toyota Probox is said to have been heading to Mombasa from Kitui, while the Prado was going in the opposite direction.
According to Ngangani Location Chief David Mutambu, the accident was. caused by overspending.
He advised motorists to avoid driving beyond the optimum speed and careless overtaking.
Bodies of the three have been moved to Kitui Level IV Hospital mortuary, while the injured are receiving treatment at the same hospital.
