Hon. Mutua was arrested by the police officers on Sunday afternoon while he was attending a Sunday Service for allegations that he was inciting the public "to get rid of the camel herders".

After his arrest, he was taken to Itwagwa police station in Embu county for questioning. He gave his statement, and then he was taken to a police cell.

Some Kitui county leaders and the county assembly leadership led by the Speaker  Kevin Kinengo Katisya went for his rescue, where he was released on bond. He is supposed to  appear in the NCIC
offices in Nairobi on Wednesday.

"We are where we are now because of my fight for peace between my people and the Somali people who has been feeding their camels in the Kitui-Tana River border for a long time and I won't stop fighting for my people who have been killed by these Somali people. I'm ready to cooperate with the government to find peace for my people." the youthful legislator said.
