Ousted majority leader and Kyuso ward MCA Munyoki Mwinzi alias Katonyi has demanded that Speaker Kevin Katisya sticks to his role rather than undermining MCAs. In a speech delivered on Friday, Katonyi said that Speaker Katisya was undermining the will of the people. "Tell Speaker that if he continues with his antics, we will greet him since you're the ones who elected me", said the Kyuso ward legislator.
On September 3, Kitui Wiper MCAs voted to remove the Kyuso MCA as majority leader. He was replaced by his Migwani counterpart Harisson Maluki. Other changes made were removal of Kitui Township MCA Daniel Ngoima as the Majority Whip. Ngoima's place has since been taken by Kanyangi MCA Boniface Katula.
Speaker Kevin Katisya communicated the above changes to the assembly.
After the changes were made, only two days later, September 5, Wiper Secretary General Shakila Abdalla wrote to the party MCAs inviting them for a meeting to solve the emerging differences by addressing the alleged unprocedural removal of party leaders. The letter was copied to party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Kitui County Assembly Speaker Kevin Katisya and Kitui County Party Coordinator Waziri Bakari.
"The purpose of the meeting is to deliberate the concerns raised, address the alleged unprocedural removal and chart a way forward ", read the letter in part.

Editor's notes: We published earlier that Wiper party headquarters approved removal of Kyuso ward MCA Munyoki Mwinzi. We have since noted that did not happen. Apologies to the MCA and Wiper party for the inconveniences caused.
