Finally, rains are expected tomorrow Tuesday in the afternoon. In a weekly weather forecast by the Kenya Meteorological Department seen by MWINGI TIMES, the Met Department said that after the onset, rains are expected to last till Friday, "reduce over the weekend then pick up again as from Monday next week".
The onset of October-November-December, OND rain season is expected in several places, according to the Weatherman.
Kitui County Director of Meteorological Services Daniel Mbithi said the maximum temperature expected during the OND rains onset week will range from 24°C to 36°C while the minimum temperature is expected to be oscillating between 16°C and 23°C.
There will be moderate north easterly to easterly winds blowing at a speed of below 25 knots (6.5m/s).
Farmers from all the 40 wards in Kitui county have been called upon to consult their respective extension officers for advice on best farm practices in light of this latest weather outlook report.
