After weeks of dry spells, this week is likely to break the jinx of the continued drooping of largely drought-resistant crops in Kitui County.
The county director of Meteorological Services Mr Daniel Mbithi said, "morning as well as afternoon night showers and thunderstorms are expected over few places spreading to most places towards the end of forecast period". He added that more rains intensity was likely to be experienced in the southern sector of the county.
The temperatures forecast shows that there will be a high of between 23°C to 34°C and a low of between 16°C and 23°C.
Farmers have been called upon to consult their local agricultural extension officers for advice on the best farm practices in light of this weather forecast.
