Kitui Chief Officer for Decentralized Units, Stephen Kitonga Salee, and his Roads and Public Works counterpart, Eng. Benjamin Chamia, today, spearheaded a high-level delegation of security officers and county engineers on an inspection tour in readiness of the official commissioning of the Kwa Ngongoo in Nuu Ward and Twambui in Endau-Malalani Ward police stations.

Benjamin Chamia, Police County Commander Madam Martha Ngetich and other police officers during an inspection tour awaiting official commissioning of Kwa Ngongoo in Nuu Ward and Twambui Police Station in Endau Malalani Ward.
Addressing police officers temporarily stationed at the sites for guarding purposes, the Chief Officer noted that the tour aimed to ascertain the completion status of the stations and resolve any emerging challenges ahead of the official commissioning.
“We have been sent by the governor to inspect the completion status and address any challenges being faced in the facilities before official commissioning,” Salee said.
Salee further added that the governor is committed to ensuring the police stations and neighbouring households are adequately served with water, improved road access, and reliable network connectivity.
Kitui County Police Commander Martha Ngetich, who led the security delegation, hailed the governor for supporting the establishment of police stations in insecurity-prone areas, saying the police stations will help maintain law and order, deter crime, and enable faster response to emergencies.
She further affirmed that the National Government is ready to deploy officers to the stations immediately after commissioning and handover to the National Police Service (NPS).
Also present during the inspection tour were Mwingi East OCPD Kobia Baru, Zombe OCPD Peter Nzimbi, Nuu Police Station OCS Peter Adero, among other senior officers.
