Led by Kitui township MCA, Daniel Kimanzi Ngoima, the legislators accused the first term Speaker of interfering with Malombe's work in delivering services to wananchi. This, they said, was due to what they described as Speaker's "selfish interests".
As a consequence, Township MCA Daniel Kimanzi Ngoima and his Kyuso counterpart Munyoki Mwinzi spoke detailing their impeachment plans for Speaker Katisya.
"I want to tell you that the war we are fighting is not over. We stopped for X-mas festivities. We will continue fighting. What use will it be if I deny residents development?" , asked Ngoima.
Echoing his colleague's sentiments, Kyuso MCA Mwinzi supported impeaching Speaker Katisya. Wiper party nominated MCA Jacinta Mwoni said that MCAs going to force Speaker Katisya to respect the governor, declaring that " his impeachment is on the way".
Governor Malombe whose political monikor is Kyuma, a Kamba name for a iron metal, said that since the Speaker had rattled him, he should be ready to face his retaliation. " That person tried provoking Kyuma. Tell him that I will prick his nose", said Malombe.
In his New Year's message, Speaker Kevin Katisya offered an olive branch to the Executive saying the County Assembly of Kitui and himself had forgiven Dr Julius Malombe and they too were requesting for reconciliation.
Earlier, the speaker survived another impeachment motion that was orchestrated be Kivou MCA Sammy Maithya. The motion was not approved by the clerk of the assembly.
